Fearless England ready for Algeria England are in a combative mood ahead of their must-win World Cup encounter with Algeria today, with the return of Gareth Barry a boost to their confidence. Fabio Capello's superstar team go into the Group C game in Cape Town under far more pressure than they would want after Robert Green's howler gifted the United States one point in their opening match. Whether the West Ham goalkeeper retains his Archlord gold, place remains to be seen, with David James and Joe Hart gnashing at the bit in the wings. In a boost, Gareth Barry will play after an ankle injury kept him out of their opener, which would allow captain Steven Gerrard to return to a more offensive role. The team has also been lifted with star striker Wayne Rooney Archlord gold and Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole back in training after the duo were restricted to gym and pool work following knocks in the opening game. Rooney, for one, is fired up and put the boot into England's critics. "At the minute world of warcraft gold, I've not seen anyone we should be afraid of," he told reporters. Wayne Rooney, who plundered 33 goals for Manchester United last season, said the players were ignoring the criticism. "That is his opinion and he is entitled to it. But we don't listen to world of warcraft gold what he has to say. We certainly don't play kick and rush and we don't take any notice of his comments," he said. Having failed to score in Germany four years ago, Rooney is still waiting for his first World Cup goal, but he denied he was under pressure. "Not at all," he said. "We've got players in the team who can score goals. For us to do well, I need to play better than I did and to score goals." Algeria, who have never faced England before, know that they too must win, having crashed 1-0 to Slovenia in their opener. Their only injury doubt is maple story mesos, goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi, who sprained his left knee in training on Tuesday. Captain Anther Yahia believes maple story mesos his side can cause problems. "We have qualities which should shine through," said the 28-year-old. "We are going to pose problems for the English. We will be more ambitious (than against Slovenia) and it is a role that suits us better." Algeria coach Rabah Saadane expects his players to give their all. "England are a superb team. I put them among my favourites. There will be very little change against them in terms of personnel, maybe one or two," he said. Hosts' heart broken, Switzerland stuns Spain It was a stunning day in the ongoing 2010 FIFA World Cup as hosts South Africa were whitewashed by Uruguay 3-0 on Wednesday night and European champions Spain lost to Switzerland 1-0 in the afternoon. Uruguay's star striker Diego Forlan broke millions of South African hearts when he scored a cracker of a long range goal in the 24th minute to put his 2moons dil, team ahead of Bafana Bafana in their second Group A match in Pretoria. The wound deepened when South Africa's goalie Itumeleng Khune was red-carded for a foul on Luiz Suarez in the penalty area in the 76th minute. Forlan took the penalty to 2moons dil make it 2-0 for Uruguay. A 94th minute goal by Alvaro Pereira made the final score 3-0. South Africa tied Mexico 1-1 in the World Cup opener. In Durban, Gelson Fernandes' charge before the net awarded Switzerland a historic 1-0 win over Spain in their Group H opener. This was the most unexpected result in the first round group matches. Switzerland never beat Spain in its past 18 attempts, managing only three draws. Fernandes, the midfielder of France's Saint-Etienne, stunned the spectators in the 52nd minute when a long ball was flicked back by Eren Derdiyok like a blitz. The move lured Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas to charge forward. His wrong timing left Barcelona defender Gerard Pique to clear the threat replica rolex, and made the man finally fall down, enabling Fernandes to slot it into the empty net. Swiss coach Ottmar Hitzfeld said "You definitely need a bit of luck to beat a team like Spain, but we started very concentratedly." His Spanish peer Vicente del Bosque replica rolex said "Today we did not show our true team personality. It's not a good sign to start the tournament like this, but we have to cope with it." Actually, Spain totally controled the game with their amazing skills, pace and composure, forcing the Swiss to chase the ball in most of the time. However, their countless shots were unbelievably poor. Swiss only had two chances but they cashed one. In Nelspruit, Chile, who finished second behind Brazil in the CONMEBOL region, were wasteful in attack in their World Cup Group H opener, only edging minnows Honduras 1-0. "I think we deserved the win, though we should have scored more goals," said Bielsa, coach of Chile. "Now we have to knuckle down and improve for the coming matches against Spain and Switzerland," said Alexis Mendoza, assisting coach of Honduras, as their coach Reinaldo Rueda had been suspended by FIFA. In the 34th minute, Chilean midfielder Jorge Valdivia threaded the ball behind the back of the defence to teammate Mauricio Isla, whose cut-back was bundled home by forward Jean Beausejour. But the dominating Chile squandered too many chances to only finish with a 1-0 victory.

Higuain is hat-trick star as Argentina triumph Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain became the third Argentina player to score a World Cup hat trick as the former champions overpowered South Korea 4-1 Thursday. The 22-year-old followed in the footsteps of Gabriel Batistuta, who claimed hat tricks in the 1994 and 1998 tournaments, and 1930 star Guillermo Sta-bile. "It is a very important victory for us which puts us on the verge of the next round, we played a great match," said Higuain. Higuain struck three goals less wow power leveling, than a day after Diego Forlan of Uruguay grabbed a brace following 16 earlier matches in which no soccer player managed more than one. "I have to commend my boys for the great job wow power leveling they have done, the only way South Korea would have made our lives difficult would have been if we had allowed them to," said Diego Maradona. "For example, if we gave them too much ball to control or space to run into or made a mistake like (defender Martin) Demichelis did. "We were never worried about them and they never upset us." Midfield maestro Lionel Messi, FIFA Player of the Year 2009, was superb throughout as Argentina raced into a 2-0 first-half lead thanks to aion kinah, a header from Higuain aion kinah and an own-goal by Korea's Park Chu-young. Lee Chung-yong was the Korean marksman in first-half stoppage time and they squandered a great chance to equalize midway through the second half at Soccer City before the late collapse. Argentina meant business from the kickoff and took the lead when Messi's free kick deflected off Park's legs who could only watch in horror as the ball flew over the line. Maradona then replaced the limping Walter Samuel with AS Roma's Nicolas Burdisso on 23 minutes. Argentina extended the lead when replica rolex, Maxi Rodriguez's cross was flicked on by Burdisso for Higuain to beat Jung Sung-ryong on 33 minutes, before Lee's late effort gave the South Koreans hope for the second-half. Jung pulled off two great saves replica rolex in quick succession early in the half: first from Higuain at close-quarters after a good break from Angel Di Maria, a constant threat to the Korean defense, then Tevez after a long-range shot. The only slight blemish on the Argentinians' day was Jonas Gutierrrez second booking of the tournament which will see the Newcastle United star miss the next game with Greece. Higuain settled the contest after Messi beat two defenders in the box and squared for the Real forward to fire into an empty net on 76 minutes while Messi again played a hand in the fourth goal on 80 minutes to seal the win. When he jogged off in the 82nd minute to loud applause from the Argentina fans, the 22-year-old Higuain's reply in kind could well have been for midfield maestro Messi who created his goals. Khedira, the new 'Ballack', fears Serbian backlash Sami Khedira, who has cheap aion kinah, successfully replaced the injured Michael Ballack in Germany's midfield, said he is wary of a backlash from Serbia in today's World Cup clash. Serbia went down 1-0 to Ghana in their opening World Cup match in Group D on Sunday cheap aion kinah and next face high-flying Germany, who hammered Australia 4-0 the same day, in Port Elizabeth needing a win to remain in the tournament. Former Chelsea star Ballack is out of the World Cup with an ankle injury, but his replacement Khedira has already forged a partnership alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger in midfield and will face the Serbs. The Germans produced arguably the best performance of the World Cup so far by hammering the Socceroos, but Khedira says the challenge is now to tame Serbia and maintain the momentum generated by the opening win. "This game is no foregone conclusion, the Serbs will be very fired up and dying to get something from this match," said the 21-year-old. Khedira, who holds a Tunisian passport, is maple story mesos, among the next generation of talented German soccer players like Brazil-born striker Cacau and second-generation Turk Mesut Ozil. While the multicultural Germans are now seen as the team to maple story mesos beat after their dynamic display, Khedira said the team are just focused on Serbia. The Germany camp are extra wary of the Serbians having learned the lessons of Euro 2008. Two years ago at the Austria and Switzerland-hosted tournament, Germany beat Poland in their opening game, only to lose to Croatia in their next group match before going on to reach the final. Assistant coach Hansi Flick says the same mistake will not be made again. "This team is entirely different from the Euro 2008 squad," he said. "They are a young team, who are only looking forward, never back." Flick said the Germans are concerned about the threat of imposing Serbian striker Nikola Zigic, who at 2.02 meters tall has the height to power his headers cabal alz, down into the path of his fellow Serbian attackers. Bremen's Per Mertesacker will be charged with cabal alz the task of containing Birmingham City's Zigic and the German has experience of the role having marshalled giant Jan Koller of the Czech Republic in previous internationals. "(Per) Mertesacker is tall as well and he has already played that role against Koller, he had no problems," said Flick. Serbia have plenty of Premier League talent in their squad with their defense led by Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic and Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic.

What aspects of Chinese culture can succeed overseas? Matthew DiGiovanni, an Australian statistician working in Melbourne and Beijing The common good I think the positive side of Chinese economic thinking will start to have more appeal overseas, as the rotten edifices of the kind of free market capitalism the West has energetically promoted or imposed for the past three decades begin to crumble. This stems from both the socialist origins of the PRC, and the collectivist ethos of traditional Chinese culture. Chinese thinkers have always World of Warcraft power leveling, been concerned about ways to ensure that everyone got a fair share, but perhaps more importantly, most Chinese are only a generation or two removed from World of Warcraft power leveling the countryside. Rural life certainly had its disadvantages, but it encouraged thinking about the good of the whole of the village, not just oneself. Wealth in China has seldom been associated with virtue or ability; the Chinese recognize the unfairness of life, and acknowledge that a well-run society can play a powerful role in correcting it. Look at the calls for social welfare, redistribution of wealth, and a just society that permeate the Chinese Internet, and contrast it with the numerous cries on the US Internet to take away the rights of others, be they Hispanic immigrants, married gay couples, or Muslims. It might seem odd to say so at a time when Chinese welfare is badly in need of reform, the wealth gap is dividing society, and the arrogance and greed of the nouveau riche here is growing. But people here still assume that redistribution of wealth, giving disadvantaged groups a helping hand, and providing social welfare for everyone are innate goods, and the rightful business of the government. It's a far cry from the US or Australia, where rising social inequality seems to be taken for granted by many as the "natural" state of affairs, rather than something created by a generation of policies designed to help the rich and screw the poor. That mode of thinking, however, is looking increasingly outdated in the wake of the financial crisis. At the moment the backlash to that seems to be an unfocused, often fanatical anger last chaos gold, but if China can build a society that's both prosperous and focused on the collective rather than the individual good, it can be a model for the world. Simone Beindorf, a German citizen working in HR in Qingdao, Shandong Province Helpfulness In recent times last chaos gold, various aspects of Chinese culture have been adopted overseas. Chinese restaurants increasingly offer a version of Chinese dishes adapted to Western tastes. But there is one part of Chinese culture that should not be ignored but highly appreciated: the helpfulness of Chinese people. Before departing for China, I was given "advice" for handling the potential cultural differences I would have to face. For example, "If you ask for the direction, always try to ask three people. If two of them tell you the same direction, it might be true. Chinese people do not confess if they do not know because this would mean they would lose face." However, when asking for directions in China, in most cases I did not even have the chance to ask another person because the other would go to the trouble of taking me there himself or herself. There are a plethora of examples demonstrating the willingness of Chinese people to help foreigners. For instance, I remember buying a ticket at aoc power leveling, the bus station, misunderstanding what the vendor was trying to explain, then being helped by the girl queuing behind me, or trying to find a youth hostel in Hangzhou aoc power leveling and being helped by the security guard of another hotel who phoned the hostel in order to ask for the way. In general the helpfulness of Germans cannot be compared with that of the Chinese. Germans are most used to hiding behind a newspaper while on the train, immediately putting in the MP3 headphones to dispel any possibility of being talked to by a stranger, averting one's gaze to the floor when somebody asks you the way, in the best case mumbling "Sorry, I do not know." We often use excuses like "I am in a hurry today" or "I am not sure of the way", but actually we should follow the example set by the Chinese. Quincy Angol, a civil engineer working with the Dominican Pavilion at the World Expo Generational connection I share something with aoc power leveling, many Chinese I know. I was raised by my grandparents, not by my parents. It's quite common in my home country. Even kids who live with their parents usually have at aoc power leveling least one set of grandparents either sharing the house, or living nearby. In China, of course, it's very common. However, this might not be all good. Sometimes it leaves children disconnected from their parents, rather than closer to the whole of their family. But I think mostly it's positive. It means kids have a sense of where they come from, and the values of their family and culture. Grandparents also tend to be more Final Fantasy XI GIL, understanding of their grandchildren. After all, they've already been through kid-raising once, that they have the experience and skills to make it easier the second time round. And, especially in countries like China where Final Fantasy XI GIL there's so much heaped on kids by their parents, grandparents are better at just letting children be children. They can give the kids space that they need to develop and be themselves. Like I said, this is something that other cultures already do, but I hope that this idea of learning from and being with the elderly will go beyond that. Sara Olsen, a Danish student finishing her MA studies in East Asian philosophy Philosophy Chinese philosophy has been popular in the West for a long time, at least among the intelligentsia. The first translations of Chinese classics in the 18th and 19th centuries influenced generations of Western thinkers, from Voltaire's idealized Confucianism to German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer's musings on Buddhism. China's philosophical traditions, from Daoism to neo-Confucianism, are among the richest in the world. I believe the next decade or so will see a major revival in interest in Chinese philosophy in other countries, both ancient and modern. I say this for several reasons. One is that the Chinese government is making deliberate efforts to promote Chinese way of thinking, through programs such as the Confucius Institute. Another is that aion kinah, the interest in non-Western philosophers has grown considerably in recent years. Philosophy is one of the few non-scientific disciplines where modern China has aion kinah produced serious thinkers. In turn, Chinese thought is being increasingly influenced by Western philosophers, from traditional thinkers like David Hume to modern ones like Kwame Anthony Appiah. Chinese ethical and governmental philosophy is also playing an important role in determining China's future, giving philosophy a major role it plays in very few countries. China is in the middle of serious debate about important questions, like: What are the responsibilities of the rich? How should we govern, and be governed? Is clinging to old models of the family a good or bad thing? Understanding the role of philosophy in these questions, which will help determine the future of 1.3 billion people, is vital not just for China, but for every nation interested in China's future. Extortion schemes show sympathy for stricken workers When talking of labor contractors in China, most people will instantly think of arrogant and potbellied misers roaring toward a group of swarthy and thin migrant workers. Labor contractors, always seen as pitiless explorers, are demonized figures. So, isn't it astonishing to hear that in East China's developed coastal areas, some replica sunglasses, labor contractors murmured assent to a group of migrant workers who did almost nothing but asking for money? This is an absolutely true story. Tang Jinhong, a 35-year-old man from Anhui Province, ran a mahjong club in suburban Shanghai in early 2009. Many customers were replica sunglasses migrant workers, who exchanged all kinds of gossip while playing there. Some boasted about how they made money by extorting their bosses, which deeply impressed Tang. After he went bankrupt several months later, Tang decided to try his hand at the con himself. The plan was deliberately plotted, which included several key steps. First, Tang went to a labor contractor at a local construction site, saying that he wanted to aoc gold, introduce six or seven migrant workers to them. Second, once he got a signed contract, Tang changed the number of migrant workers to 16 or 17. Third, he mustered nearly 20 villagers from his hometown, led them to the labor contractor aoc gold and asked for jobs. Then came the most brilliant part of the entire plan. Most labor contractors, who refused to arrange work for so many people, and were subsequently threatened by violence, would buy peace with money, rather than go to the local labor bureau for negotiation. A few labor contractors, who felt cheated but still arranged jobs for them, soon found that they had to fire these troublemakers. Therefore, Tang's gang could still extort a fee, since their victim had called for unilateral termination of the contract. Before launching attacks on all fronts, Tang's team ran the con three times at construction sites in Shanghai, and succeeded all three times. They then pulled the trick at all kinds of construction sites in East China's Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces, until they were eventually arrested six months later. The biggest age of conan power leveling, irony was undoubtedly that during the six months, no one believed the labor contractors were the victims. A construction site manager surnamed Liu from Jiangsu Province regarded his experience of being extorted as "unforgettable." After seeing Tang's gang age of conan power leveling and the fake agreement, Liu immediately called the police. However, the police weren't biased toward him, but took it for granted that Tang and his villagers were the victims in this arrangement. Many other victims didn't go to the police at all. They just wanted to negotiate privately to get the farce over with. This is exactly what Tang's gang took advantage of. People think that migrant workers only have physical strength. There are no labor unions for them, no insurance, no protection aion gold, and no channels for requiring better treatment. They are always silent. Due to the fierce competition in most labor markets, they seem to aion gold be used to earn mean salary through exhausting work. Poor accommodation, bad food, terrible working conditions, it seems that they can tolerate everything. Therefore, once they organize themselves to protest and ask for money, the conclusion that most people draw is that they've been so exploited by maple story mesos, a dark-minded boss till they can't stand it any more. The dramatic role of Tang's gang exactly reflected the absolutely disadvantaged status of maple story mesos most migrant workers in real life. As some netizens commented after the story, Tang was lucky that he encountered some weak bosses. Many such construction places have a team of strong bodyguards, or have developed a complicated relationship with local thugs. Some just endlessly delay paying migrant workers. Once a protest occurs, those migrant workers will be "taught a lesson." Some netizens applauded the extortion by Tang's gang, holding that they at least let the bosses know what fear is. However, this is a crime. Someday legal protection toward both dog clothes, labor contractors and migrant workers will be done dog clothes and the negotiations between employers and workers can be conducted under a legal framework. Then fake migrant workers won't succeed time and again, because normal workers can get their pay without threatening to beat the boss or jump off a bridge.

Crossing oceans sinks prospects for love among many Chinese "I came from Alabama/ With a banjo on my knee/ I'm going to Louisiana/ My true love for to see," wrote Stephen Foster in his song Oh Susanna, about courting in the 1850s. The melody remains a favorite today, and its relevance still lingers a world where people are willing to travel not only between states but across continents to get close to their dream. And yet finding true love is harder than ever. From China to the US, one common dog clothes, topic among young people from every kind of cultural background seems to be the bumpy and often fruitless road toward a soul mate. Reality shows such as The Bachelor dog clothes and The Bachelorette are very popular both in the US and China. But they tend to perpetuate a harsh reality - Wealthy, good-looking men get the girl, while the poor guys with a good face for radio often falls short. But it is the well-educated Chinese who come to the US to study and work that seem to have more challenges than their lower achieving lovelorn peers back home, judging by the lonely hearts wandering in the Internet chat rooms aimed at overseas Chinese. Most of cheap aion kinah, my single Chinese friends have been searching for Mr or Ms Right in vain. It is hardly as if there aren't a lot of cheap aion kinah singles to choose from. In some small towns the choice may be limited but in a city like New York, the most populous city in the US, there are millions of singles. One glance at an episode of Sex and the City shows that while this creates plenty of opportunities, there are also many opportunities for sad one-night stands and hopeless tie-ups. A recent survey by replica rolex, lovecity.com listed the Big Apple as one of the top 10 worst cities for singles in the US. Of course, the increasing diversity of replica rolex this society plays a major role as almost all love-seeking singles in the US have to decide whether to look to their own racial community, which may be comparatively small, or to the broader population which may bring other challenges such as social judgments and cultural conflicts. The choice of the latter is replica rolex, a hard one for immigrants from homogenous societies. Even in the US where diversity is in the DNA, interracial marriage was barred by law until 1967. But replica rolex even last year, a Louisiana Justice of the Peace still refused to marry an interracial couple, although he had to resign under pressure afterward. Still, as the population of minorities now has exceeded that of white people and they have become the new majority, it seems interracial relationships represent the future. A research report released earlier this month by the Pew Research Center, a Washington DC-based think tank, found that interracial marriage has reached an all time high as one in seven newly-wed couples in the past year fall flyff penya, in this category. But Chinese don't seem to have benefited much from this flyff penya new trend. It's not a secret that many Chinese college students, before taking the journey to the US, try to get a date or even an instant marriage in their own country. For those who haven't succeeded, the process often involves their worried parents trying to match their overseas children remotely. In Beijing, there are even periodic gatherings in at least one park for such parents to perform their matchmaking. There are also people who disdain interracial relationships from a nationalist perspective, mainly guys. They may seem out of touch. But I have seen as many Chinese girls stick the "whites only" label on themselves in the dating game. This group may have maple story mesos, contributed to the increase in the number of interracial relationships, as has the tendency of some white men to chase after only Asian women. Whether these relationships are based on practical reasoning or some kind of fetish, they don't belong to a truly post-racial era either. Being married to a Western man myself, I am often asked by friends what are the differences between Western husbands and Chinese husbands. The question has always made me speechless. I have maple story mesos only had one marriage. I have no way to compare my husband with any other Chinese or Westerner. But I know the secret of our happy marriage. We don't treat each other as representatives of our racial groups but as individuals, and we never attribute any part of our relationship to racial backgrounds, good or bad.

Soviet interests drew China into Korean War Editor's Note: June 25 is the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War(1950-53). In a dialogue published Thursday, Professor Shen Zhihua (Shen) analyzed the reasons why the Soviet Union planned the war and why the US responded so quickly. But how was China drawn in to aid North Korea? What was rappelz rupees, the Soviet reaction? Global Times (GT) reporter Li Yanjie interviewed Shen, director of the Shanghai-based Center for Cold War International History Studies and a professor of history at East China Normal University. He is the author of Mao Zedong, Stalin and the Korean War rappelz rupees and many other works on the Korean War. This is the second part of a two-part series. GT: Why didn't the Soviet representative to the UN veto the UN intervention to help South Korea, since the Soviet Union had planned the war? Shen: The Soviet Union announced a temporary withdrawal from the UN to support the PRC before the Korean War, because the UN only recognized the Chiang Kai-shek government in Taiwan. Surely the Soviet Union could have attended the UN conference and expressed its opinion on the Korean War, but it didn't. The reasons are still a puzzle. A telegram from Stalin to Klement Gottwald, the then-Czechoslovakia's Communist Party leader, revealed by a Russian scholar several years ago, showed replica rolex, that the Soviet Union intentionally didn't attend the conference. Stalin said that in this way, the US decision was illegal with the absence of two big powers (the Soviet Union and the PRC), and the US would make its real intentions clear on the Korean issue and make more silly mistakes. This telegram implies that Stalin had predicted that replica rolex the US would enter the war and thus created the conditions for the US to get involved and trapped in the Far East. As a result, US forces in Europe would be weakened and World War III would be postponed. But I don't agree with this interpretation. The Soviet Union withdrew from the UN on January 13, 1950, yet it wasn't until the end of January that it approved Kim Il-sung's plan. And the withdrawal was made after discussion with China. This contradicted Stalin's telegram maple story power leveling, meaning to let the US in, and then China would be in. Besides, Stalin agreed to Kim's plan only maple story power leveling under the premise that the US wouldn't intervene, which also proves that Stalin didn't hope the US would enter the war. In addition, after the war broke out, the Soviet Union was slow to openly react, which shows they were caught off-guard by events. It wasn't appropriate to veto the UN's decision, signaling their support of North Korea, or to agree, which would have been seen as treachery by North Korea. GT: Stalin didn't ask China enter into the war immediately. Why? Shen: After the outbreak of the Korean War, to Stalin and Kim's surprise, the US immediately declared that it would intervene and became the first to throw air and naval forces into the battle. The US entry quickly resulted in enormous losses to the North Korean military, especially in ships and planes. According to a report by the Soviet Army General Staff headquarters, by July 3, 1950, 36 North Korean aircraft and five naval vessels had been attacked and destroyed. At this point, Stalin realized that the war was not going to go smoothly. He needed to think over the question of how to increase support to North Korea, while making sure that such support would not come directly from Moscow. In fact, the Soviet counselors designed all the battle plans, as the North Korea's People's Army was inexperi-enced. But Stalin absolutely forbade Soviet soldiers from crossing the 38th parallel or directly participating in battle. He remarked, "We do not want to leave evidence that replica rolex, could be used to accuse us of involvement in this." What Stalin had in mind was that the Chinese army could provide assistance replica rolex when necessary. Of course, when and how that assistance would be provided would depend on the development of the war situation. Chinese leaders had paid close attention to the war, especially after the US began to intervene. China requested updates on the war situation and suggested Kim attack and occupy southern harbors and station strong defense forces at places like Inchon. On July 5, Stalin wired, "We think it is correct to concentrate nine Chinese divisions on the China-Korea border so that the volunteers can enter North Korea for battle when the enemy crosses the 38th parallel. We will try our best to provide air cover." In order to urge the Chinese to make the decision and prepare to dispatch troops to Korea as soon as possible, Stalin, in the two telegrams followed, clearly promised that the Soviet Union would also provide air cover for Chinese troops that "entered North Korea for combat," as well as assisting the Chinese in training their air force and providing the Chinese with air force equipment. What should be noted here, however, is that Stalin established a precondition, that is, the timing would be "when the enemy crosses the 38th parallel." Mao told both Stalin and Kim that China could help in garrisoning coastal areas and important ports. But Kim at first believed that the US wouldn't intervene, so he didn't accept China's offer, and later without Moscow's permission, Kim dared not ask China to send troops to Korea even when urgently needed. Moscow told the Koreans not to lose confidence on temporary failures and to fight on their own. In an August 28 telegram, Stalin told Kim, "The Central Committee of Communist Party of the Soviet Union has no doubt at all that the foreign interventionists will be driven out of Korea soon." Finally, Stalin promised Kim that "If necessary, we can provide Korea with attack planes and fighter planes again." But the fact is that Stalin didn't provide air support to North Korea in a timely manner, and halted the already-decided provision of air cover for Chinese troops. It appeared that Moscow did not want Chinese armies to enter the war until such a time as the situation became critical. The eagerness Mao showed to send troops to Korea most likely aroused Stalin's suspicions, since one consequence of China sending troops would be to expand her status and influence in Korea. From a long-term point of view, this would not be to the Soviets' advantage. GT: How did China enter into the war? Shen: After the US landed in Inchon on September 15, 1950, North Korea's situation became increasingly desperate. Kim asked Stalin immediately if North Korea should ask for China's aid. But Stalin replied on September 24 that North Korea should preserve and depend on itself. China also signaled to the Soviet Union that the situation in the Korean Peninsula was critical that China and the Soviet Union should send military aid there, but Stalin didn't respond to China's request. On September 30, Moscow received a report from its ambassador to North Korea, Terenty Shtykov, that Seoul was probably already lost and the road for , the main force of the North Korea's People's Army to retreat had been cut and communication had been cut off. That same night, Kim sent a letter seeking help, earnestly requesting that Stalin provide "direct military assistance," and if that was not workable, to please "help form international volunteer armies in China and other people's democratic countries." Facing this emergency, Stalin finally gave the green light to the Chinese armies. GT: The Soviets and China once thought of giving up North Korea. Why? Shen: On October 1, Stalin sent a telegram to Mao, asking Chinese troops to enter Korea for the war as volunteers, organizing defenses in the areas north of the 38th Parallel. Stalin also rather disingenuously stated "I have not mentioned this to the Korean comrades and do not intend to mention it. But Atlantica gold I have no doubt that they will be very happy after they hear this." Due to vigorous advocacy by Mao and General Peng Dehuai, China finally adopted a resolution to send troops into battle in Korea. Soon afterward, the Chinese People's Volunteer Army was formally established and the army en-tered the final prewar preparation stage. On October 8, Mao informed Kim and Stalin that China had decided to form a volunteer army to assist North Korea, and the troops would start entering Korea around October 15. However, when Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai went to the Soviet Union to confirm the weapons, equipment and air support it promised to provide, Stalin pointed out that he could still completely meet all China's needs for military equipment like airplanes, tanks and artillery, but the Soviet air force was not yet ready and could not go into action for two to two-and-a-half months. After extended discussions, both sides agreed that since both could only be ready after six months when North Korea would have been occupied by South Korea and the US, they had to give up the country and inform Kim to arrange a retreat as soon as possible. Stalin required Mao to make the final decision, so that China would have been blamed if North Korea had been lost in the end. But actually, the Soviet Union's military force was already prepared for war. Stalin always forbade Soviet forces from directly engaging with US forces at the frontline, even when they pro-vided air cover in the rear areas. He was skeptical about the determination of the Chinese to intervene and the prospects for victory even if they did. Finally, Stalin still had hopes of solving the Korean issue peacefully through secret diplomatic channels. But the secret diplomacy failed. Mao first agreed, but later changed his mind and insisted on sending troops to Korea, as this action carries greater significance politically rather than militarily. He believed that if the US occupied the whole of Korea, China's security would be endangered. When China engaged with US troops in Korea, Stalin finally trusted China and offered air force support. The result was that the war enhanced Sino-Soviet relations and formed a real alliance between the two countries.

Rainy season brings death, floods At least 46 people died and 50 were missing Thursday as heavy rainstorms drenched large areas of southern China on Wednesday. Some 2.56 million people were affected in six provincial-level regions, including Fujian, Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangxi and Sichuan, the China News Service reported Thursday. The National Meteorological Center continued its yellow rainstorm alert at 6pm Thursday to warn of the ninth downpour within two months, which could cause flooding and mudslides in seven provinces. The center raised the emergency archlord money, response level from four to three Thursday, meaning the disaster can cause significant impact to the economy and people's lives. Casualties resulting from rainstorms in archlord money Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region rose to 27 by Thursday, including 12 deaths and 15 people missing. More than 680,000 people were affected, with direct economic losses estimated at 428 million yuan ($ 63 million). Jiang Liangbin, a deputy director of the flood control office in Guilin, Guangxi, told the Global Times Thursday that the government ordered relevant agencies to be alert for potential flooding, but no hazardous conditions had yet been reported. The water level of dog clothes, the Lijiang River rose above the flood alert level by 1.5 meters as of 15:30 pm Thursday, said Jiang. The local government mobilized a helicopter rescue dog clothes of 13 people in Sanjiang, Guangxi, on Wednesday. The victims were trapped in a lumber factory surrounded by rising floodwaters, the Xinhua News Agency reported Thursday. More than 100 millimeters of rain was recorded in the township within three hours Wednesday, the report said. Zhang Mingying, senior engineer of the Beijing Meteorological Center, told the Global Times Thursday that the normal rainy season in southern China began in May maple story mesos, and more provinces in East China's Yangtze River and Huai River regions will enter the heavy rain season next week, lasting for nearly a month. "The rainfall volume has been high compared with maple story mesos rainfall statistics in previous years because more rain fell on southern China this year," said Zhang. "Continuous rainstorms may cause geographical disasters such as washed-out roads and landslides and should be carefully watched by local governments," Zhang added. Six people died and 18 were found missing on Wednesday after a landslide resulting from four days of relentless rain pushed two cars into a river in Nanping, East China's Fujian Province, China News Service reported. Seven people were rescued from the river. Direct economic losses to Nanping were expected to top 370 million yuan ($54 million). The strong rains cut off flyff penya, two main electricity transmission lines in Nanping on Monday and halted the supply of electricity to 35,802 households. Power was restored to 95 percent of the households Thursday, Xinhua reported. The agency reported that rain damage across the nation added up flyff penya to direct economic losses of 2.72 billion yuan ($398 million). Innovation key to military prowess For a long time, the growth of China's military industry adopted a low profile. The outside world had few opportunities to know of China's military capability except occasions such as the military parade on National Day. This week for the first time, China's defense companies showcased their latest equipment, from handcuffs to rockets, at the Eurosatory in France last chaos gold, which is Europe's largest warfare goods exhibition. Among some 1,300 exhibitors are the world's top defense contractors from countries such as France and Germany. Like other trade fairs, attending Eurosatory is a good way for Chinese companies to promote themselves and exchange experiences last chaos gold. But the display of Chinese military equipment is projected in an unfair way by sections of Western media, which imply that Chinese companies may copy latest technology from competitors. Conforming to the overall image of Made-in-China, China's military equipment has concentrated on cheap, low-end equipment. Like its manufacturing sector, Chinese military industry, too, is trying to upgrade, and here innovation is the key. China's military industry began with imitating former Soviet Union's arms, but it is now aware that key technology cannot be acquired by imitating. Purchasing from other countries is also not feasible as China is still blocked out under an arms sale embargo imposed by Europe and the US. Even China's request for purchasing a few helicopters for disaster relief from the US was declined in 2008. Core military technology can only come through innovation, and it best illustrates a country's innovative ability. When armored vehicles carrying locally made missiles passed through the Tiananmen Square and fighter jets roared overhead during the military parade, it attracted the world's attention because of the key technology they carried. In fact, China's core military technology does not match its economic clout. Despite various "China threat" theories, China has much to do toward acquiring military key technology through innovation at home. Modern war is World of Warcraft power leveling, based on a combination of technology, information and communication. Home supply of key technology should be the goal of real military modernization. The international market is not the main target of China's military industry. But the fact that China's military export is only a tiny part of the US shows the gap in variety World of Warcraft power leveling and performance of Chinese weaponry vis-à-vis other exporting countries. China also lags far behind in developing its own weaponry system, which can be updated on a continuous basis without much difficulty. The Chinese government is taking necessary steps to foster innovation, and there are perceptible advances in its weaponry system. However, these are far from competitive by any international yardstick, and the distance to be traversed is far more than the distance covered thus far.

Like a virgin Let's start with the good stuff. "Your virginity back in 20 minutes!" "No surgery, no shots, no medicine, no side-effects. For a cool 100 yuan ($14.60) you can have your 'first time' back anytime!" The ads for artificial hymens caught Ms Xie's attention outside a Chongqing sex store. She lowered her head, put on sun glasses, went inside and purchased a box of "Virtuous Girl Red" hymens for her big day: her first physical union with her husband-to-be. The 100-yuan hymen kit contained RuneScape Gold, a small dark-red semitransparent plastic insert. Xie tore off its cover, inserted it and waited 20 minutes until it "melted", and then carefully climbed into bed where her husband-to-be was waiting, with a voice running through her head saying, "remember to act like you are RuneScape Gold in pain." After a few ups and downs, moans and groans, they relaxed, turned on the light and excitedly spotted a liquid that looks like blood on the bed sheet. He smiled and held her tightly in his arms. She felt like she was standing at the door of heaven until his question drew her quickly back to earth. "Honey, what is that smell?" It turned out that the "user friendly guidelines" written on the Virtuous Girl package neglected to mention a significant drawback: the "blood" smells. They broke up eventually. Too much pressure Xie, 27, from Chongqing and who archlord gold, had had one previous partner prior to her "second virginity," told the Global Times that the reason she faked her virginity was because of pressure from her ex-boyfriend's family. "I wanted to tell him the truth before our wedding archlord gold because I thought he is open enough to accept me, " Xie said. "But one day I overheard the conversation between him and his mother, asking if he was my first man." "Then I realized if virginity means so much to his family, then I have to do something," she added. The worse was yet to come. The artificial virginal hymen ruined her would-be marriage, left her heartbroken and with pain whenever she urinated. After consulting doctors, Xie found she had contracted vaginitis as a result of the failed cover-up operation. "I don't regret using a fake hymen, but last chaos gold, I don't recommend others use one," Xie said after 800 yuan in medical bills hadn't rid her of vaginitis after eight months last chaos gold. Medical studies have shown that bleeding is not the only signal of a broken virginity. Some women are born without hymens; while others might accidentally rupture theirs long before any sexual activities, either by accident or through sporting activities. Still this common sense fails to reach some Chinese men or their future mother-in-laws. Many women in China are dumped or divorced after men deflowered them and found no bleeding, which causes many desperate women like Xie to fake their virginities. Since China opened up to the world 30 years ago, many things have changed. Yet the ancient standard of being a "traditional virtuous woman" is wow cd keys, still ingrained in many men's minds. According to the 2007 Global Sex Report released by Durex, an international condom manufacture, the average age of "first contact" for Chinese people is 22, while the global average age is 17. Tan Zhonglun, 28, a doctor in Guangdong Province who recently got wow cd keys married, told the Global Times that some well-educated, open-minded young men in China still have their fingers crossed that their wives are virgins. "To be honest, we care. It is not that broken piece of tissue that bothers us, but the fact that other men had touched her before," he said, admitting that the moment he found out his wife was a virgin, he took her even more seriously. He said young couples are more likely to accept sex outside marriage, however, for older generation it represents the highest moral standard for a family's reputation. "If future in-laws pop that question, they only want to hear 'yes' from their future daughter-in-law," he said. "I have to say that despite the modern education we receive, the traditional idea of virginity still lingers in men's mind." "I don't want to lie," said Li Jing, a 30-year-old single woman at a Beijing-based advertising company. "But still, it is not something you maple story power leveling, can say out loud. When people ask if I am a virgin or not, I say 'Hmmm … I am a human being.'" According to a survey released early this maple story power leveling month by the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council, 22.4 percent of Chinese people had experienced sex before marriage, and 60 percent are "relatively tolerant" towards sex before marriage. Perhaps if Xie had paid more for a Japanese-made fake hymen, her experience would not have been so painful, emotionally and physically. A box of two Japanese hymens can sell around 500 yuan, compared to those made in China that cost about 100 yuan. However, all online shops claim they are selling Japanese hymens and most warn that the cheaper models, such as Xie's, will lead to vaginal infections. The distribution is also "buyer-friendly". People can choose from the local sex shop, buy on-line or contact a salesperson directly through a little advertisement posted in a public toilet. A salesman at dog carriers, xuexing.org, an online shop that sells fake hymens, told the Global Times that they receive "many orders everyday", not only from worried Chinese women but also from the United States, South Korea and Egypt. Bahador Bahrami, an Iranian neuroscientist working in Denmark dog carriers, bought two boxes online. Each box contained two "hymens." "It is a gift for fun," he told the Global Times. "It is the kind of product that will do immense good," he said. "Virginity is still an important concept in Iran, even among the more progressive middle-class youths." "The ones packed in a paper bag are made in China and cost 98 yuan; while the ones packed in a wooden box imported from Japan, 125 yuan, said the sales-man. "Buy five boxes at one time, you get 20 percent off," he added. "Some Chinese ones are as low as 50 yuan." Students and prostitutes are the main custom-ers, he said. An Internet search found one shop based on taobao.com selling second-time virginity. The shop, based in Hefei, Anhui Province, has sold around 100 hymens within a month. The price is an exorbitant 459-yuan per box, whereas in a sex shop, the same product will cost 120 yuan. To protect privacy, however, the thoughtful online shop owner created a fake link for their customers, from which a "Korean dress" is shown on their purchase record. Comparing to the fake hymens, surgery to restore a hymen can cost 10 times more at hospitals. "Re-created virgin" surgery at the private Beijing Wuzhou Female Hospital costs between 3,000-10,000 yuan, depending on the extent of the "damage." The prices at public hospitals are much cheaper, ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 yuan, but they are likely to turn down patients on "moral grounds." Zhou Hong, vice-president of Wuzhou Hospital and the director of the gynecologic division said, "Doctors at some public hospitals say 'no' to hymen repair surgery because they think it is not necessary and immoral to cheat their future husbands". The surgery, however, is fast and easy. It takes about half an hour. Patients can walk around at the same day of the surgery. It promises to give you "real blood, real pain" and that even an experienced man cannot tell his "virgin bride" is faking. "We still educate our patients that a woman's value should not be judged by a piece of tissue, but if they insist, we would do it for her anyway," Zhou added. Zhou's patients are mainly women aged between 20-30. The surgery usually takes place before the marriage. She declined to tell the number of operations she conducts each month, saying she doesn't want to encourage women to do it. The demand has been stable in the past decade. Chang'an Hospital in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province conducted over 300 operations in 2007 according to the hospital's website. "From a medical point of view, the hymen is no more than a piece of tissue, yet people have given it too much symbolic meaning," Zhou said. "We should free women from feeling guilty about not being a virgin on their wedding night. "Personally, I am not a supporter of the surgery," Zhou repeated. However, she said she understands the necessity for restored hymen surgery and provides reassurance to her patients. "You shouldn't worry at all, the right amount of blood will show up at the right time and in the place. Even if the man takes a close look down there, he can not tell the difference," she said.

G20 not the right place to discuss the yuan: FM The upcoming G20 summit is an "inappropriate" forum to discuss the yuan's value, China's foreign ministry spokesman, Qin Gang, said at a regular press conference in Beijing Thursday. The yuan-related comments are the latest in an ongoing dispute with Washington over the value of China's currency, which the US believes is significantly undervalued, leading to an unfair advantage for Chinese companies. Still, with the G20 summit set to luna gold, start next week, tensions between the US and China are still considered lower from where they were just a few months ago, when the US drew China's ire with the sale of more arms to Taiwan. A strategic meeting three weeks ago is believed to have calmed some concerns on both sides. Nonetheless, China said the June 26-27 summit isn't luna gold the right place to discuss the yuan. "The yuan exchange-rate issue was not a cause of the international financial crisis, and it is not a hurdle for world economic recovery, rebalancing or sustainable growth," Qin said. A senior Chinese official told Reuters Thursday that "If we allow the G20 to turn into a process of finger-pointing, then it will certainly send out a very confusing and misleading signal to the markets and to the general public." These comments were made in response wow cd keys, to renewed pressure from Washington on Beijing to let the yuan currency rise, with lawmakers threatening to vote on legislation to push China to make a move on the yuan. "If China does not act, and the administration does not respond promptly thereafter, the Congress will act," Sander Levin, chairman of the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee, said Wednesday in Washington at a hearing on China's trade policies. Charles Schumer, a senior Democrat in the Senate, has wow cd keys proposed a bill that would allow US businesses to incorporate estimates of currency undervaluation in the "countervailing duties" they can impose on imports deemed to be unfairly subsidized, the Financial Times reported. These threats follow comments by US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who said last week that the yuan was a hurdle to global rebalancing. Complaints over the World of Warcraft power leveling, yuan's value have eased over the last two months as the euro crisis ran deep, but they resurfaced after China's trade surplus posted a surge of 48.5 percent in May from a year earlier, giving China a trade surplus of $19.5 billion, up from just $1.7 billion in April. US data showed that its trade deficit widened slightly World of Warcraft power leveling in April, with some economists arguing that the improvement in net trade and its contribution to US growth appeared to have stalled. Zuo Xiaolei, chief economist of China Galaxy Securities, noted that some forecasts of Chinese trade figures are based on plausible analyses, which overestimate the European debt crisis' impact on China and doesn't account for its lagged effect. In fact, she said, the hike of exports in May was because of a low comparison basis from the same period last year, which decreased by 25.9 percent. Meanwhile, the growth of imports from the US cheap wow gold, and EU in May exceeded the rise of exports to these areas. The mounting pressure of wage increases in cheap wow gold some export-oriented companies also shows that the appreciation of China's currency, with export prices hard to be raised, can only reduce the room for labor income growth, she added. Limited impact Even if the yuan is as much as 40 percent undervalued against the dollar and is allowed to appreciate, the impact on US companies would be limited, perhaps increasing prices of Chinese goods around 10 percent, Marc Chandler, the global head of currency strategy at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co, told the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). John Frisbie, head of the US-China Business Council, said a political move by Congress would be mostly counterproductive, as legislation required to world of warcraft power leveling, counter misaligned currencies would violate World Trade Organization rules, according to the WSJ. Also, the US hasn't acknowledged China's market-economy status, though it did pledge during the strategic talks with China last month to world of warcraft power leveling seriously con-sider the issue and speed up the process, which is sure to face obstacles in the US Congress. China has already stated that it would take both the international and domestic economic situation into consideration when it comes to deciding the timing of any change in the yuan's value, and it will commit to the exchange-rate reform at its own pace. Arms sales to Taiwan The foreign ministry spokesman urged Washington Thursday to strictly honor the commitment it has made in the three Sino-US Joint Communiqués and to stop its arms sales to Taiwan. "US arms sales to Taiwan seriously harm the core interests of China, and the Chinese government firmly opposes it," Qin said at the press conference. He was responding to questions about comments by US Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who defended US arms sales to Taiwan on Wednesday at a senate hearing after being questioned by Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein. Feinstein, who was in China last week, called the US arms sales to Taiwan "a substantial irritant" in relations between Washington and Beijing. Gates defended the sales by 2moons dil, citing China's growing anti-ship cruise and ballistic missiles opposite Taiwan, and said it was it was up to Congress and the White House to decide whether to change the way arms are sold to Taiwan. But he acknowledged the concern over China's suspension of military contacts with the US as a fallout of the arms sales. China suspended military-to-military contacts 2moons dil with the US after the Obama administration notified Congress in January of plans to sell Taiwan up to $6.4 billion in arms. Earlier this month, China also rejected a proposed visit by Gates.

China all the buzz in S.Africa While the absence of the Chinese soccer team in the 2010 South Africa World Cup disappoints local fans, made-in- China products are ubiquitous at the quadrennial gala, which also sees its first Chinese sponsor this year. However, experts say Chinese businesses itching for gains should not be satisfied with the short-term effects, as throwing money at the pitch may not replica rolex, score any goals if there is not a comprehensive publicity plan to promote products and brands. Nearly 90 percent of South Africa's "vuvuzelas," the trumpets replica rolex blown by fans during matches, are produced in China, though the long plastic horns have sparked a growing backlash due to their deafening drone, likened to a giant swarm of bees. The Jiying Plastic Product Corporation, based in Zhejiang Province, produced more than 1 million vuvuzelas from January to April this year, mainly selling them to the South African market, Wu Yijun, the company's general manager, told the Global Times Thursday. Wu's company is expected to Eve isk, make a fortune from vuvuzelas this year, with a 28-million-yuan outlay this year, a 50 percent increase year-on-year, with the wholesale price of the vuvuzela at 2 to 3 yuan each. Many soccer fans' must-have souvenirs seen everywhere at Eve isk stadiums are also made in China, such as key rings, wigs, flags and light sticks. A manufac-turing company from Jiujiang, in East China's Jiangxi Province, has produced 1.2 million World Cup soccer balls for the event. While these made-in-China vuvuzelas are blaring in the auditoriums and gaining popularity, Jiao Chen, of the Center of Economy and Diplomacy at Tsinghua University, questioned if these manufacturers can really build up their image though the World Cup. "Though some Chinese manufacturers make a lot of money out of the international event, I don't think it's a long-term development plan for them. You don't have ffxi gil, a brand name on it. You don't have the intellectual property right. What you are doing is just producing the goods that could give you a ffxi gil finger in a pie," Jiao said. According to a report by the National Business Daily, vuvuzelas sell at between 20 lante ($2.60) and 60 lante ($7.80) in South Africa, so Chi-nese producers can only earn about 5 percent profit. While some Chinese enterprises are producing and supplying goods for the event without being noticed, some companies are trying to stand out, and one has succeeded. Alongside many traditional World Cup partners wow power leveling, and sponsors such as Visa, Coca Cola and McDonald's, Chinese solar company Yingli Green Energy, based in Baoding, Hebei Province, has tapped into the soccer spectacle to raise its brand's profile. The company also built the first carbon-neutral commercial display in the World Cup at the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg, introducing its products and brand to fans and the public. "The World Cup offers an international platform to wow power leveling publicize our corporation," said Liu Yaocheng, vice president of Yingli Green Energy. "Letting more international companies and consumers become familiar with our brand is our goal." As the first green-energy company to sponsor the FIFA World Cup, the amount of Yingli's endorsement of the event is unknown, but "tier one" sponsorship is reportedly above $100 million. And the newcomer's appetite is not only for this year's World Cup. "We will keep on sponsoring various international sporting events, not only the World Cup, to promote our brand awareness," Liu said, revealing that after replica rolex, the World Cup the company will estimate the brand awareness and recognition worldwide in order to evaluate the effects of the sponsorship. Though the return on its investment is replica rolex yet to be known, Liu believes the advertisements attract "all foreign audiences' eyes, even when only the Chinese characters for the firm's name, "中国英利" appear on the football field." The only chance for Chinese sporting brands to show up in South Africa turned out to be a failure. The sports brand Erke dressed North Korean players during the pre-World Cup matches, but in their opening match against Brazil the North Korean players wore jerseys by Italian brand Legea. Zhang Qing, CEO of Key-solution, a company dedicated to sports strategy and consultation services based in Beijing, thinks Yingli is wise to sponsor the World Cup, and it is a great improvement for a private enterprise to be the first Chinese World Cup sponsor. Chinese businesses eyeing tangible gains at the World Cup should also draw up detailed plans for pre-event and post-event promotions, Zhang suggested, adding that Yingli, which planned to be a World Cup sponsor since last August, does not have mature marketing strategies. "Few people had ever heard of Yingli Solar until they watched the first few matches. The promotion should have started much earlier. Branding efforts by a business for wow power leveling, a single sporting event normally take at least one and a half years," Zhang said. Jiao noted that market positioning is also crucial for Chinese companies to compete with world renowned brands on the global stage. "Advertising at the World Cup is a great opportunity for Chinese brands, which are less-known globally. But the enterprises should tailor a strategy based on the local market instead of rushing to the (international) arena," Jiao said. To maintain a long-term brand recognition, Jiao said that wow power leveling companies should strengthen the core competitiveness of their products. "If you don't have an edge in technology, you must make sure to have a good service. If the service cannot excel, you'd better get some creativities in your products," Jiao said "Otherwise you will lose any chance to compete with those tycoons who have dominated global events like the World Cup."
